WE STAND Together

A working families agenda for North Dakota’s COVID-19 response

WE STAND Together

No matter what we look like, where we live, or what’s in our wallets, this critical moment in our history reminds North Dakotans that we are all connected. By our very nature, North Dakotans look out for one another. We’re quick to organize a potluck for a sick friend or a sandbag line for a flooding community. That same spirit is needed now more than ever. The way we pull through this pandemic and economic crisis is together.

WE STAND Together

Families and individuals around North Dakota are staring down economic ruin, insurmountable medical costs and unparalleled uncertainty in the face of this pandemic. Those hardest hit by COVID-19 and the economic fallout are those in the service, care and hospitality industries, family farmers and ranchers, gig workers, hourly wage earners, temp workers, and small business owners.

Our system is not working for everyone and now is our chance to take action together.

We deserve more than to just survive this pandemic. We deserve a joyful future where everyone - no matter our race, job, immigration status, gender, disability status, zip code, religion - can live safe, happy and healthy lives. We can build a fair and comprehensive healthcare system for everyone. We can ensure that every job provides the wages and benefits to support our families, and put time with our loved ones back at the center of our lives. We can make sure that every person who wants to own a home that they’re proud of is able to do so, in a healthy state and on a healthy planet that’s a beautiful home for ourselves and future generations.

WE STAND Together

It’s time for North Dakotans to come together across our differences of race, place, and class like we’ve done in the past. We must take emergency actions to ensure our families can survive, and also work to evolve our system so all families can thrive.
